Christmas Eve Stew

If you are interested in helping make the stew, we will be at New Life tomorrow (12/23/09) at 11:00 am. If you can't be there but you still want to make something, we need baked goods (brownies, cookies, etc) for dessert. (Or if you don't cook, store bought cookies are great.) Just enough

So this last Tuesday, I wanted to make a little gift for the Dude, Share the Food team I work with every week. I gathered up the ingredients to make a banana bread recipe I bragged about to the team and they have long awaited. With each ingredient I used, there seemed to be just enough to cover the recipe and throw away the empty container. Just enough shortening, just enough vanilla extract, just enough eggs.... new mercedes, old bread trucks, and U2

October 22nd, 2009 today was a great day on the streets of atlanta. my friend, rusty, has an old bread truck that we often use to share food on those streets. it’s kind of a “beater”; loud inside, won’t go very fast, one fold-down seat and one folding chair for the passengers……. the first place we stopped was an area called “little 5 points”. always an interesting crowd there. today was no different. we served food and gave out gloves and blankets to the “typical” homeless types, and to the c… Continue

it takes a little time

thomas, a small, super quiet, 50-something white man, finally let us pray with him. Don't Deny Your Calling

While listening to the current series Pastor David has been preaching it reminded of a theme I saw emerge from the book of Ephesians: Calling. Rocky Balboa and the Strength of Christ

I've often wondered exactly what Jesus meant in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:38 when he told us to turn the other cheek when someone strikes you. Great Message On Sunday - Again!!

Coming Home

About 5 or so months ago, my daughter an I started attending New Life again. It had been about a year previous to this that we had to stop due to family matters. Time passed and my heart kept pulling me toward New Life again. On that faithful day Ashley and I made that first trip back to New Life, we've never looked back.
